Initial idea.

The initial idea of this blog is to log my progress in kicking my coca cola addiction  and recoring my battle to lose all the weight that I have gained in the last 10 years of coca cola abuse.

Background

I am 41 years old and I am 5ft 8 inches and weigh 96kgs as of writing this. I am an ex 40 a day smoker who hasn´t smoked for over 14 years. I am a moderate drinker who drinks maybe once or twice a week at most and I love junk food.

For the last 10 years I have been aware of a steady increase of my coca cola intake to a point where I was drinking 3-4 600ml bottles a day. I was a running joke at work because of the fact that I always start the day with a bottle of coke!!!

I have tried various times to quit coke with varying degrees of sucess ovber the last 10 years. My last atempt failed 2 weeks ago after 3 months of not drinking coke! Everyone laughs at me for my lack of will-power with coca cola when I stopeed smoking so easily but seem to be un able to stop drinking coca cola!!!

Since I got married 14 years ago I have gained 28kgs and have had very little sucess in shifting the weight in this time. This year I have done a little better and my weight has dropped a couple of kgs to 96.8Kgs this is with training in the gym almost every day for the last 3 months and playing basketball 1-3 times a week!!

Deciscion

I have decided that this year my goal is to loose just over 10kgs to get my  weight down to 85kgs by this time next year. In order to do this I have set myself the following goals for myself:

  1. Go one year without drinking Coca Cola.
  2. Walk with my dogs for at least 30 minutes every day and record the walks with Strava.
  3. Do jump training at least 3 times a week.
  4. Skate at least 3 times a week
  5. Play basketball at least 3 times a week.
  6. Use car less. 
 Looking at the goals the most difficult for me is giving up coca cola!

I have decided that I will drink my last JD and cokes of the year up until midnight tonight and then from that point on I am not going to drink any more coca cola for a year to see what happens.

I am going to blog my progress in this blog as well as recording everything in a diary as well.

I am not planning to go totally cold turkey I am going to swap coke for another type of soft drink for 2-3 months and then after that I want to see if I can go soft drink free for the rest of the year!

 Today´s weigh in will be used as my base line for this blog for the rest of the year. My weight this morning was 96.8Kgs and 29.8% body fat on my scales.
